Clinical Experience/Areas of Interest

Co-founder of Total Physiotherapy in 1996, Kevin has achieved a wide spectrum of qualifications and experience related to his physiotherapy profession.  He believes in a patient-centred approach, and has developed clinical expertise in orthopaedic differential diagnosis and treatment strategies for complex cases.

Kevin has taken more courses to mention related to orthopaedic and sport rehabilitation.  He obtained Fellowship with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT) in 1997, and has been an active member of Sport Physiotherapy Canada since 1992.  He has been a clinical instructor with the Ontario Physiotherapy Orthopaedic Division, and is an adjunct instructor with the Queens University Nurse Practitioner Program.  He mentors professionals and students on a regular basis, and enjoys the teaching and mentorship opportunities of his profession.

Kevin has a strong interest in Sports Medicine.  He has been the Physiotherapist with the OHL Peterborough Petes Hockey Club since 1999, and with MSL Peterborough Lakers Lacrosse Club since 1998.  He has experience in a variety of sports events and organizations including 1999 Pan Am Games, Canadian Soccer Association, Ironman, and numerous Trent University and Mohawk-MacMaster varsity sports including rugby, soccer, field hockey, rowing and basketball.  He has been Medical Chair for the 1998 Ontario Winter Games, 1997 Ontario Games for the Physically Disabled, Ontario Special Olympics, and a number of OFSAA events.  He is on the advisory team with the Peterborough Youth Sport Concussion Program and is a Complete Concussion Management Practitioner.

Kevin’s experience in occupational rehabilitation is significant, consulting to business and industry including General Electric Canada, General Motors, and Pepsico.  He has vast experience with injury prevention programs, return to work programs and ergonomics, and has worked in disability management settings with WSIB, auto insurance and disability insurers.

On a More Personal Note:

Kevin promotes an active lifestyle with himself and his family.  You will often see him at the local rinks or sports fields with his wife or kids, or running between them!

Kevin is an avid runner, and has competed in numerous marathons and other distance races, including Boston in 2004.  He participates in triathlon most summers, enjoys mountain biking, and frequents the gym in between.
