Jennifer Garside - Registered Massage Therapist

Jennifer Garside , RMT

Qualifications:

Graduated from the Registered Massage Therapy program at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough in 1999.  Throughout the years Jennifer has participated in enhanced education programs for sport/athletic taping and concussion rehabilitation to encourage the healing process for clients.

Clinical Experience/Areas of Interest:

Jennifer has extensive expertise treating musculoskeletal areas utilizing Swedish massage techniques for issues such as repetitive strain, athletic injuries, headaches and tension, inflammatory issues such as arthritis, pre and post-natal massage. In addition, chronic pain, stress and anxiety, post-surgical scar tissue mobilization and issues resulting from motor vehicle accidents.

Jennifer has volunteered on medical teams for the IIHF World Women’s Hockey Championships and the Ontario Special Olympics Spring Games. In addition, Jennifer has organized massage therapists for the Peterborough Subaru Triathlon, Peterborough Half Marathon and was also the Massage Therapist for the Trent University Varsity Rowing Team.

On a More Personal Note:

Growing up, Jennifer participated in competitive sports such as a gymnastics and Alpine ski racing. Post ski racing, Jennifer became a level 1 instructor through Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance and a level 1 ski coach through Canadian Ski Coaches Federation. With this, Jennifer spent many years coaching younger athletes in the Alpine ski racing program.

Now with a young family and children that are involved in numerous competitive sports which has them competing throughout Ontario, Jennifer spends an abundance of her time outside of work travelling to sporting events. Volunteering, Jennifer has become a level 2 swim official with Swim Canada and is often found on deck at local and surrounding pools officiating at meets.
